Natural treatments for keloids
You can get rid of such marks by surgery, laser or some injections, but it’s quite expensive! Here are some effective natural remedies in treating keloids formation:
Baking soda is a good remedy for keloids. Mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to form a smooth paste. Apply this paste on the affected area, cover it with cotton pad and let it work for 20 minutes. Repeat this treatment 3-4 times every day.
It contains antioxidants and vitamin C, which are very useful in treating various types of scars. Massage scars daily with lemon juice. After a few weeks you should see a significant improvement in color, texture and scars appearance.
Garlic prevents excessive fibroblast proliferation, which is the main cause of keloid scar expansion. Apply garlic oil or grounded garlic cloves on scars and let it react for 15 minutes. Wash the area with warm water.
It has skin rejuvenating properties which are effective in reducing keloids formation. Apply this oil on the affected area and massage gently. You can repeat this remedy several times a day. After 2 weeks you will see the results.
Coconut oil is a natural remedy that helps moisturize and heal the skin. Massage scars with coconut oil for about five minutes. Rinse with warm water after 10 minutes. Do this daily until the scars disappears.
Besides garlic, onion also helps in reducing keloid scars. Apply onion juice and massage three times a day.
Soak a cotton pad in apple vinegar and apply it on the scars for several minutes. Then rinse with warm water. Repeat this treatment daily.
